The ‘3 Rs’ to Plan your career- Time to relax, reflect and redirect our life!
As we welcome 2024, it can be a ‘sigh of relief’ or a ‘celebration’. You can focus on things that didn’t go your way or take stock on things you actually did in 2023.
Personally, I take this holiday season to relax, spend time with family and friends and cherish the season of Holiday and, reflect on the past year and contemplate how I’d like my New year to be. New Year isn’t about the first day of the year. It is the whole of 2024.
Relaxing gives you the space to think, to reflect and be creative about what your future could be.
Reflecting gives you the opportunity to ‘pause’ and take stock of your achievements. It’s easier to miss out on your achievements when you’re in your daily grind but as you reflect, you will realise you have achieved more than you thought. Couple of ways to reflect are by writing a daily journal, reading a good book or being close to nature. Disconnecting yourself from your daily grind, social media and doing things that help you connect with yourself.
Redirecting: It’s easier to follow the pathway that has been set but how sure are you on the right path? When was the last time you thought about your career, your long term and short term goals? Take this time to redirect your career or life’s goal if needed, it’s better to redirect now than land up on the wrong platform to a wrong destination.
Wishing you all the best for your 2024.

What’s happening at the Foundation?
Our Startup Fellows are busy diving deep in their placements yet finding time to connect and share! The fellows presented their startup ideas and amazed us with their prototype developed in a short timeframe. They also took time to reflect on their personal goals and craft their career innovation plan.
Here’s a peek into what happens during the fellowship!
“Illume has connected me to my host company where I have learnt so much in such little time. I learnt how to use Adobe express, which is a great digital marketing tool, hence expanding my horizon to newer tools for designing. I also got my hands on Zoho which is a CRM tool, and has helped me to grasp a better understanding of the management side of marketing. I also learnt how to create marketing research surveys using this tool. I believe that all these skills are bringing me one step closer to my dream goal.
With Illume, I have learnt how to polish the entrepreneurial side of my goals. With the concept of creating value and addressing customer’s pain-points, while bringing them gains, I believe that I will be able to apply the concepts learnt from this business model to my own business one day”. Amna (Illume Fellow 2023).

Here’s what our VC Fellowship Experience looks like
“Securing a job in the investment management industry as a fresh graduate was a journey marked by determination, strategic planning, and relentless effort. Armed with a solid foundation in finance and a strong passion for the field, I embarked on this endeavour with a clear goal in mind. Illume Ventures gave me an opportunity to intern as an investment analyst which thoroughly helped in getting a job. The hands on experience at financial modelling and report generation played a vital role in showcasing my skills to the recruiters.
I leveraged internships during my academic years to gain practical exposure and build a network within the industry. The experience with Illume as an Investment Analyst not only provided hands-on experience but also showcased my commitment to learning and contributing effectively.” Riddhesh (Illume Fellow 2023)
